Blisters
Having a blister can really impede your everyday comfort in your shoes. Below you'll find some useful information on how blisters form and what you can do to help alleviate the pain that you may feel. We also have a great range of foot care products that you prevent them forming.
What are Blisters?
Blisters are common injuries that can be very painful for the sufferer. They are a result of friction and shearing forces that occur on the toes, heel and sole of your foot during movement. Walking, basketball, running and wearing ill-fitted or new shoes that haven't ben properly broken in are all instances where blisters will happily form.
How to treat blisters...
There are many ideas on how to treat blisters. Should we burst them or leave them alone is a common question I am always asked. Many practitioners suggest that 'initial treatment should include draining the fluid while leaving the blister roof in place'* After this Compeed's Invisible Blister Patches and Blister on Toe's plasters can give you pain refief and added comfort in your shoes whilst your blister heals.
To prevent blisters from consistently occuring, individuals with sensitive and soft skin can try using 'second skin' products such as compeed's anti blister stick to help delay formation. Products such as Spenco's heel to toe insoles can also be helpful in reducing shearing and rubbing.
